"I could not let the details of this go undocumented. It was mid-July in the middle of one of the hottest months in Albuquerque's history. My wife, Rita, was concerned with the behavior of one of our two air conditioner units and called Donner to check it out. Over the next week, there was a comedy of errors worthy of Shakespeare. Comedy was provided by myself (who believed the units were both working), Rita (whose cool comfort zone is 68 to 68.1 degrees) and Earl (the frustrated technician). Given this mixture of characters, "keystone cop" scenes were virtually guaranteed. In all seriousness, we had a potentially dangerous situation — a very hot house. Earl did a good job of finding the problem, developing a solution to the problem, and keeping his clients (Rita and I) from rioting. The real problem was part distribution and transportation. At the end of the crisis, Earl summarized the problem, answered our questions, and quietly left. He was kind enough to call a week later to see how we were doing. Thank you for your service and extra kudos to Earl."
